FANS Kids Closets are satellite locations of the FANS Locker Room. Schools and Community Agencies provide allocated space and FANS stocks a limited inventory of emergency needs; shoes, diapers, daily hygiene items, lice shampoo kits, school supplies, socks / underwear to help a child through the school day and the parents with one-time emergency assistance.
FANS Kids Closets are established at Chandler Care Center, Galveston Elementary School, St. Peter Mission School, Chandler Unified School District, Coolidge Unified School District, ICAN, My Sisters Place, Queen Creek Unified School District and Higley Unified School District. The FANS Kids Closet locations continue to expand and in 2017 over 600 youth and family members will receive more than 20,000 emergency items of assistance.
“The Chandler CARE Center is pleased to continue to partner with FANS Across America Charitable Foundation to serve Chandler families in need. Our partnership with FANS enables us to provide families access to assistance we cannot otherwise provide to them, including clothing, shoes, household items, personal hygiene, and in some cases laptops and school supplies. The Chandler CARE Center recognizes the incredible value of basic necessities for our at-risk and needy families in Chandler and we are happy to have FANS as a referral source for families we serve.
This year, with the addition of the FANS Diaper Bank, we have been able to provide 13,554 diapers at no-cost to families in need in our community. Diapers are one of the largest needs faced by low-income households with babies and toddlers, and this partnership has enabled us to meet this need in a direct, tangible way.
Chandler CARE Center will continue to make referrals to FANS for clients in need of basic living necessities, as well as accepting referrals from FANS for the services which we provide.
One of our caseworkers may accompany the clients to FANS for the purpose of helping identify items needed.
Thank you for continuing to provide these vital services to the families we work together to serve in Chandler.”
